Routing Strategy
Group Jobs by Zones:
– Keep jobs within the same color zone whenever possible.
– If needed, group jobs in neighboring zones or those in the same color family.
2. Use Freeways Efficiently:
– Plan routes along a single freeway when possible to minimize travel time.
Example: A route along the 5 Freeway could include jobs in Irvine, Tustin, and Santa Ana.
Example: A 405 Freeway route could cover Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, and Huntington Beach.
3. Utilize Toll Roads for Faster Routes:
– 241 Toll Road and 73 Toll Road can significantly reduce travel time when scheduling jobs in South OC and Beach Cities.
4. Avoid the Orange Crush:
– Minimize routing through the Orange Crush (where the 5, 57, and 22 freeways meet) during rush hours to avoid delays.
5. Peak Traffic Awareness:
– Avoid major freeways like the 5 Freeway and 405 Freeway during peak traffic times (7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.).
